Designing a Contemporary Rural Home on the Highlands of Balaton
reimagining & uniting three existing building parts
At a late summer camp getting to know the nature around us
Task 1: Discover the surroundings
My photo colletion
Task2: Choose an artist for inspirations
My photo montage of László Moholy- Nagy & the building
- His works inspired interiors as seen in small referential pictures on all moodboards
- I also applied constructivism style at designing interiors by his ingenuity
Task3: Build imaginary characters from papercuts of magazines
and create their characteristics by calling words

Fictional story of theirs:
They have met in New Mexico, at a wellness retreat to cure their 'burnt out stage' in life. And after living together for three years in California have decided to move to the Highlands of Balaton, Káli - basin and purchased this lot where they wish to settle

Challange:
How to create a home from three separate, smallish buildings?
Use (de)constructivism style / Natural & native motives & materials / Be up to date / Glocal
See my concept unfolding below:
Interior (walls) demolishing plan
Interior & exterior objects building plan
Explanation:
- Developed the front of the (left part of the) building into a shop & workshop area for Tünde
(currently these two front openings are fixed, not in use, I placed an entrance door here)
- Designed an infinity pool for first impression at arrivals to the private area of the house
by demolishing the oversized second stairs leading to the small back garden & basement level (see original plan)
- The other stairs through the large terrace are providing acces to the back garden
- Inspirations for the lines & angles of walls & structures are coming from:
how the windows are pulled back from the facade into the thickness of the walls designed by the architect
- Made me playing with the movements of constructivism / deconstructivism at the design

How to create a home from 3 separate building parts?
See it in colours below:
- Creating an ante- room:
I connected the two parts of the formerly separate buildings
with the smallest intervention of construction in to the original structures: placing wide
double doors here
- Kitchen: The covered, triangle shaped terrace got large doors filling up the
gaps between the coloums, providing access to the large terrace
- Sweat lodge: with a light adobe structure is build for personal wellness as requested
- Stargazing platform: is created to fulfill a hobby & the desire of starry nights
- Living area: is opened up to permit acces to both terraces & the pool,
not solely via the ante- room
At the separate rectangle shaped building part:(see on the left)
- Shop / Workshop's front opened up to public functions
- Acces to downstairs: where the Atelier is for flower processing & packaging,
storing products
- Home office & Library + Gym are on the first floor used by the couple :
for mental, spiritual & physical fittness
- These functions fit well to be slightly separated from the main living areas.
Detached & connected by the pool

+ Bonus Task4: Suggest & think about indoor plants & landscaping matching concepts
Shop / workshop area
- Where Bach-remedy & Fito-therapical products could be bought & lectures are hold
- References to folk motives: are custom designed displays for products
- A podium is made for sitting audience
- Natural materials are used to reflect product philosopy
- Locally sourced materials are in focus
Gym / Study / Library
- Mind & body wellness
- Multifunctional desk to lounge bed furniture
- Orthopedic office chair for best posture
- Local & contemorary designer accesories
- A joining bathroom is created for practical reasons to refresh
