Newsweek is one of the top weekly news magazines. They report on topics ranging from business, to politics, to arts and entertainment.
With my redesign I want to push Newsweek to the NEWS side. The majority of the audience is business professionals, so they are not concerned about the latest fashion craze or what Lady GaGa did at the VMA’s. They want world news, and they want corporate clean design. I want to portray this with a lot of white space and simple typefaces. They have really strong imagery and strong graphics. I want to keep those aspects and push the type a little more and change up the grids. Professionals aren’t always interested in the crazy graphics so I want to keep it simple.
