"How many ice creams have you had so far this year?"
"What's your favorite ice cream; Rocket, cup, or stick?

No matter how much ice cream changes over time - no matter how new flavors or sugar-free or lactose-free or vegan options appear - it will always evoke exciting memories in the child that everyone hides inside.

Unilever asked us to create a logo design for "Happy Scoops; our first thought was to create shortcuts between today and that time when the team members were still children regardless of whether "that time" was for someone, the '70s, the '80s, or the '00s. Happy Scoops is the Ice Cream department that manages the organization's ice cream brands in Greece and the region.

THE WORDMARK
We aimed to create a sense of nostalgia, giving a vintage touch to the design, and at the same time maintain a contemporary look & feel. We created a wordmark with custom lettering reflecting innocent and scandalous vibes inspired by the street culture of the 70s and 80s. The letters are playful, bubbly, and almost liquid, reflecting the nature of the cream, which is the basis of the ice cream.

THE MASKOT
Happy Scoops intended to avoid the corporate mainstream stereotypes and spread positive energy. By illustrating the first "O" as a scoop-on-a-cone, we were allowed to create an almost naive "mascot," still a common practice in today's ice cream brands aimed at children. The mascot helped us to build a carefree and casual visual language and express the spirit of positive energy and summer-ice-creamy vibes! The color palette also refers to a children's color chart and colorful sugar sprinkles, but with more intense saturation to connect with the present and avoid a strong vintage feeling.
