Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Rebranding Pitch

The Client:
Established in 1938, NAFA is Singapore’s pioneer arts institution. Across its rich history, NAFA has nurtured 13 recipients of the Cultural Medallion and become known for its rigorous and high-quality curriculum, innovative and practitioners-led teaching approach, diverse artistic creations and community outreach.

The Challenge:
The baggage of the perception of being traditional, stagnant and outdated has been a side-effect of NAFA’s rich and longest history in Singapore. With the imminent formation of Singapore’s first university of the arts with Lasalle, NAFA is at a critical juncture where it needs to be intentional about bringing the brand into the modern-contemporary and carving out a clear brand identity while still honouring its tradition.

The Idea:
A new brand that embraces NAFA's heritage while embodying the push into the modern hybrid future of the arts.
