Student Design Work from the 2019-2020 school year.

The works below have been created in the Graphic Communications class by the students at the Dickinson-Iron Technical Education Center in Kingsford, Michigan. Students come to the Tech Center from eight local Michigan and Wisconsin high schools.
*This school year was non-standard, ending with remote learning; because of this, fewer completed student works were collected resulting in a limited portfolio shown below.
DESIGNS FOR COMPETITION
Students commonly have the opportunity to design for a design competition at NWTC, Green Bay. The topic was PSA (Public Safety Announcement) Poster.

PRODUCT DESIGN AND PRODUCT PROMOTION
Students began by creating an identity (logo) for a product of their choosing. Then, they designed the label for a container and applied it to the container/made the container.
In a following assignment, they photographed the product, edited the photograph (if necessary), and then designed posters promoting their products.

MULTI-PAGE DESIGN
Students work on multiple page designs throughout the year including children's book design (first year students) and cookbook designs (second year students).

FUN WITH PHOTOSHOP
Students were asked to combine randomly selected images to make "hybrid" animals using the tool in Adobe Photoshop. This exercise helps develop skills to be used in photo editing and correction.
