The Story of the Des Plaines Historic Theatre

In 2018, the City of Des Plaines Council made the decision to purchase the old downtown theatre after it sat vacant for many years. The theatre is located in the heart of downtown Des Plaines across the street from the Metra Train station. The City recognized that the theatre’s restoration could drive transformational downtown revitalization and economic development. In 2021 the renovations were finally finished and ready for the residents of the City to enjoy this new (old) theatre again.

This video was made to give some history on the theatre and the extensive renovations the City made to bring new life to the theatre and the downtown area

Winner of a 3CMA Savy award for Video Promotional Video
