WITH A SPECIAL PORTRAIT SERIES BY OAT MONTIEN

Leisure Projects, in collaboration with Tom of Finland Foundation, presents “The Sailor”, a collection of garments inspired by the art of Tom of Finland, an iconic and tribalizing artist who for decades helped shape the identity of LGBTQ+ people. “The Sailor” showcases biker jackets, cargo jeans patched with synthetic leather, tank tops screen-printed with the “Sailor & Biker” pattern, sailor trousers lined with the special screen-printed “TOM’s Boys” pattern designed by Leisure Projects, swim briefs and boxer shorts to add playfulness, and lastly the brand’s signature T-shirts and sleeveless shirts screen-printed with Tom of Finland drawings. The exhibition also displays a special portrait series that highlights the power of sexual attraction in the realm of Southeast Asian masculinity. The series is provided by Oat Montien, a gay artist who has worked with a number of major domestic and foreign organizations and the first Thai artist to be an-artist-in residence at Tom of Finland Foundation.
