Artly Coffee: Everyone's Favorite Barista Bot
The world is being taken over by AI. Well, not really, at least not in the dystopian sense of what AI means. But Artly, the deep-learning programmed barista bot, is showing what's possible with AI technology when you train a robot to mimic the motions of one of the best baristas in the world.
Artly started as an experiment during the pandemic for a coffee shop in Portland looking to keep its services while limiting human contact. The result was a deep-learning robot arm that was then extended out to other locations and eventually a business model was born.
Artly came to us needing a name, visual identity, and retail space design. Inspired by the fact that Artly can perfectly create a variety of latte art, mixing art and science, and inspired by the gestures of the robot itself, a fun, friendly visual identity was born to help make Artly feel friendly, approachable and as close to your neighborhood barista as a robot arm could possibly be.
