I've been travelling on the RER, the Paris area commuter rail system,  since I arrived in France in 1989. "Métro, boulot, dodo" is the refrain I was taught. In spite of the sometimes mind numbing monotony after more than 30 years I still, mostly, enjoy the break in the day that hour gives me, a time to read, a time to reflect and a blessed transition from work to home and vice versa.
Above:  Auber station RER A, I used this station from 1989 to 2009 every working day. Now it is getting a facelift
Below:  Gare de Lyon RER D. Oh the hours I have spent on this platform!
Below: Orangis Bois de l'Epine RER D my "home" station. 35 km from my home but free parking. Those stairs are important as only now some 30 years later a lift is being installed just in time for me to stop using the station!
The spectacular sunset is thanks to storms in the Sahara.
Finally cold and dark mornings in winter....
Above: Boutigny sur Essonne RER D. near the end of the line, no problem getting a seat at 6 in the morning. You are alone....
Above: Nation and Auber RER A. So expensive to buy a snack from those machines! Someone should do something about it and that was before inflation came back. I feel my grumpy old man coming ....
Below: Chatelet les Halles RER A, RER B and RER D. Miles of corridors. The only reason I went there was for Marks and Spencer but Brexit has put paid to that!
