Vittra Södermalm

Vittra Södermalm

Tasked with transforming common areas at the Swedish school Vittra Södermalm into inspiring learning environments that break down the boundary between education and leisure.

Vittra Södermalm has 350 students and is located in a historic building in central Stockholm.

The design strives to support the school’s teaching methods and gives teachers and students the opportunity to work in different settings depending on the learning situation. Included are small alcoves for concentration and contemplation, a colourful cave with deep red upholstery, organic high tables for group work and soft lounge furniture for informal gatherings.
