“Ballade médiévale” was an interactive project that took place on Instagram. An educational game about the Middle Ages for Le Centre des Monuments Nationaux in France by Aller Simple.

 

This project consisted of creating a medieval character that interacts with the public, traveling back in time to the Middle Ages, telling curiosities about gastronomy, hygiene, games, love, writing, among other topics. 

 

In principle, two illustration styles were proposed: one inspired by Florent Chavouet comics aesthetics in pencil/crayon and the other one in vitraux style.

 

 

Once the vitraux style was selected, the type of character was decided: a troubadour named Agnès.

 

Different tests were carried out until the caricature version was concluded.

Then different poses for the character and accessories were produced.
