How To NOT Get Hired is a comical look at the ways people act and the things that people do (or don't do) that allow them to remain unemployed.
Color Palette & Typefaces
For the color palette, I chose colors that were fun and bright, with a slight corporate feel to them.
Each color is used as the main color for each section of the book.
For the typefaces, I chose to use a combination of both corporate and fun typefaces.
Each typeface is used in a specific area throughout the book.
Each color (with the exception of the cream color) is used for an individual section of the book. Within each section, multiple variations of the color is used.
The cream color is used in several locations throughout the book, including the backgrounds on some pages, the icon circles, page numbers, and on the cover. It is also used in some of the illustrations.
Characters
Throughout the book, there are three main characters.
Josh King and Jo King are husband and wife. They will be leading the reader through the book, showing them how to not get hired.
Vinny is a mobster. He will be interviewing Josh and Jo throughout the book.
Book
Posters & Bookmarks
In addition to the book, I designed several posters and bookmarks to promote the book. Each features a character from the book. The posters include the tip title at the bottom, while the bookmarks include a quote at the bottom. These promotional items would be available wherever the book is sold.
