Logo CONSTRUCTION & references
The logo is a complicated image, a quest for every onlooker.

Skull: iconic theatrical image, reference to Hamlet.

Pinocchio I: another iconic theatrical image, reference to the Italian roots of the brand (on the whole Italy has a strong and well developed puppet theatre culture).

Pinocchio II with donkey ears: the symbol of controversial character development, reference to non-standard theatre productions and antiheros. It's also a hint to a Shakesperian character from Midsummer Night's Dream.

Rabbit: usual role for children at matinees, also rabbit as a guide to Wonderland, reference to the immersive character of the theatre.

🐰
NAME & MICROtypography
Hand drawn lettering represents the character of stiff puppets standing by the wall in between plays yet ready to become playful and alive at any moment.
The baseline is intentionally going up, breaking the usual order, becoming free of conventions and representing the free spirit of the theatre.

🐰
COLORS
Main colors: black and white. Black: the color of auditorium, which goes dark when a play begins. White: the color of border light which creates the magic of theatre.

The bright accent colors are a homage to Italian heritage of the brand and puppet theatre on the whole.

🐰
Additional graphic elements I
Hand drawn scribblings represent the emotional character of theatre productions, linked to the Italian character of the brand and its sincerity It is also a reference to strings holding puppets.

🐰
Additional graphic elements II
An arch represents a portal to a different world, which is the essence of a theatre.
It is also a reference for an older generation to Santa Barbara and it’s ever going episodes. The concept behind this is that every month is a separate episode in life of the theatre. The theatre choses the main character of the month, thus turning the life in it into a live series.

🐰
apt FOR multiple surfaces
The logo is quite minimalistic yet holding great narratives. It is good for making street murals, signs, light boxes. For smaller media that cannot be studied close the logo can be used without microtypography and without a name. The name can be also used separately from the Hamlet-Pinocchio character.
