Modern Cooking Facility for Africa

The Modern Cooking Facility for Africa is a new financing programme supporting scale-up of clean cooking solutions across six Sub-Saharan African countries. The aim of the initiative is to provide over 3 million people in Africa access to clean, modern and affordable cooking solutions by the end of 2027.
Our brief was to develop a distinctive and compelling visual identity for the programme. One that would set itself apart within the market, and demonstrate its innovative approach compared to other traditional cooking programmes and solutions. It was our goal to create a brand that was both memorable and unique in its space; something that also represented the Modern Cooking Facility for Africa’s aspirations as an initiative.
To achieve this we used a bright and engaging colour palette with a strong, professional logo mark. We ensured it was modern, and legible, with a mark that was inspired by the energy and positivity of the programme, as well as the cooking solutions themselves.
A wider graphical visual language was also developed to ensure communications were instantly recognisable as part of the initiative. We used the MCFA brand proposition as our inspiration for this visual language that would ultimately become the brand:
"Promoting clean energy, local entrepreneurship and supporting climate, environment, health and gender equality by increasing access to modern cooking solutions"
By representing key themes in simple, stylish shapes; we created a flexible brand visual language that can be adapted to suit a huge variety of medias and contexts, whilst maintaining the visual integrity of the brand itself. Which thereby helps increase brand visibility and recognition.
We defined the application for these in an extensive brand guidelines, as well as templates and style guides for key communications and collateral.
