Graham's dairy milk packaging design

Graham's dairy milk packaging design
In this major project, I have created new packaging and visuals for Graham’s milk product range. The milk carton design is based on the roots of Graham’s family and is influenced by the Nordic dairy design style.

Graham’s is the number one dairy brand and the third top Scottish brand since 2015. The brand lays on family business and their heritage in farming and cows. The origins in Bridge of Allan are still resonating within their brand. Award-winning products and a leading role in Scotland’s dairy industry are raising the brand to another level and I wanted the brand to resonate with these standards.
When I first moved to Scotland, I was stunned by the amount of plastic I saw in the grocery stores. I thought that the visuals and the milk jug don’t fit the 2022 Britain when we should reduce plastic and consider more sustainable options in packaging. Especially, there are multiple existing examples of sustainable packaging - like in the Nordics there are only milk cartons - with more up-to-date visuals in them.

During the process, I have explored multiple different techniques such as digital illustrations, traditional drawing and screen printing without forgetting photographing. This has helped me to understand how traditional and modern illustrating methods can form a balanced outcome. Leaving your room to find inspiration from the outside and exploring new techniques are always giving the best results for my work. I selected this brief to be a great fit for my portfolio targeting the Nordic design industry. The Nordic dairy industry has greater markets and a range of products which made Graham’s brief relevant to me.
I am very happy with the result of fresh carton designs where can be seen both Scottish and Nordic influence as well. The project taught me to explore a mix of techniques and  I have improved my skillsets to the next level.
