Rehabilitation Center for Disabled People

▲ The present project aims to establish a communication bridge between the needs that people with disabilities have and the possibilities available to the architect, in a process of developing a project for this special category of people often disadvantaged.
▲ The goal of the recovering program for the persons with disabilities is improving the quality of life and redeem the human dignity by tracking and meeting the physical, psychological, social and cultural needs with a view to reintegrate the individual into society.

▲ Besides integrating the required utilities, a special emphasis was laid on design, environment and extending the concept of treatment so that to include, in a single system, as many aspects of improving the quality of life.
▲ The presence of nature is almost tangible at the perception level from the interior space because the direct interaction with the natural environment strongly influences the patient’s psychic, which can in this way greatly reduce the doses of drugs used in the pain treatment.
▲ A large scale planimetry allows the development of a space intended for both patients enrolled in the program and visitors. Locations such as gym class, fitness center, swimming pool, restaurant and multipurpose hall for theater and film, are aimed at the whole community. In this way the social integration of a patient is possible during the time he spent in the clinic facility.
▲ Such a construction represents an approach both architectural and social, and can favor the evolution of consciousness and mentality of the general public, but also the more technical aspects such as increasing interest in research domain of treatment methods.
▲ The edifice proposed as an integrated training landmark to the therapeutic act, will have to respond the demands related to creating the necessary conditions to stimulate and order the mobility processes, promoting architectural forms suitable to interactive approaches of partial systems (rooms, circulations, functions, open spaces, recreational areas), engaging the users in a continuous process of rediscovery and re-functioning.
