The project intends to help with the mental health issues of a minority group, namely LGBT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender). The program aims to offer specific support for LGBT based issues, something which current NHS therapy overlooks.

 

The centre aims to use a combination of individual therapy interspersed with group interaction and primarily encouraging people to deal with their issues and express themselves via creative media such as arts, film and drama. Exhibiting and performing this work in a public setting introduces people to the issues of this minority group and hopefully will help to reduce stereotyping, aid understanding and tackle discrimination.

 

The exhibition and performance spaces also include works by local artists so that the centre has a diverse range of works and to encourage the public to interact with the LGBT artwork.
