“Vedere il sentire” is the title of the workshop that was held in the municipality of Fosdinovo from 18th to 20th March 2022, the first of twelve actions and productions On-Site. Eleven young authors from various Italian regions have carried out photographic research in the ancient village, inside the Malaspina Castle, in the Audiovisual Resistance Museum and in the Malaspina Villa, in an urban and naturalistic context of remarkable beauty. The images propose a different attribution of meaning to the new interpretation of the territory, and for a non rhetorical communication of the history and identity of Fosdinovo and Lunigiana.
The installation, curated by Mario Cresci with Spazi Fotografici and Matèria, is a response to the exhibition held since March 27 at the adjacent Torre Malaspiniana, site-specific solution built on the same spaces of the Malaspina Castle prisons.
The intention, put in the form of a bench-game by Simone Maggiani and Davide Marcelli on a concept selected and proposed by Beatrice Malatesta, is to invite visitors to freely compose their idea of Fosdinovo as visual impression or suggestion. “Vedere il sentire”, as a result of laboratory and widespread exhibition, will finally be integrated by the production of a newspaper-sheet distributed in June to the territory and the community, then presented in Pontremoli from 30th June to 3rd July 2022, within the final weekend of Lunigiana Land Art.
