The Making of the “Singing Battle Droid” poster
I started with a simple background and ‘cheering crowd’ silhouette. I made sure to go crazy with the lighting because concerts usually have bright lights. (I had to change the background color because I couldn’t see my lines.)
I sketched the battle droid and filled it in with color.
I went back one time to make him darker because I was unsatisfied with the original yellowish tint he had.
Once I was satisfied with the colors, I added dark shadows because I wanted the poster to seem dark and mysterious.
I purposely drew the battle droid in a pose you wouldn’t usually see in the Star Wars franchise to change it up a bit.
I was able to change the background color back to the original since I was done drawing the first battle droid. The next droid, CEL5, was to be drawn playing the guitar. I began sketching and coloring him in.
I added more dark shadows with an airbrush tool.
Finally, I drew his guitar. I made the colors correlate and compliment each other.
To add extra details to the poster, I finished it off with a droid clip art and tittle. It helped fill up the empty space and make the poster feel more complete.
Tell me what you think! I hope you enjoy this piece!
