TANZEN WIR MUSIC FESTIVAL BRANDING PROJECT
I created this festival branding package for an Electronic Dance Music festival in Berlin: Tanzen Wir. This was one of my first projects creating everything from the logo to the final poster, picking colour schemes, fonts, designing layouts and mock-ups. I had so much fun creating this and became more comfortable with Illustrator. For this brand identity, I created and produced every aspect of the event from the name of the festival to the list of acts that would be performing.
The main goal which I wanted to achieve with this brand identity is translate the overall mood of EDM festivals into it's promotional material - exciting, bright and a bit over the top. The vibrant colour scheme correlates with the bright, neon lights featured in most EDM festivals. When creating both the Instagram and banner ads, I wanted to come up with a way to include a pattern and prompts directing people to participate with the ads.
When coming up with the Festival Logo, I decided to use Berlin's location for inspiration. I realized that Berlin is a huge dance and house music city, so the location was quite fitting. The name of the Festival itself translates to 'let's dance.' I decided to make the name in German as an ode to the city's national language. The animal featured in the logo is a bear, which is also the city's symbol, featured on their Coat-of-Arms. I loved finding ways to subtly fit Berlin's identity into the design of this project.
