This is a piece I created for my concept illustration class. The assignment was to create a gig poster for a band for an upcoming concert. I chose the band Deftones as they are one of my favorites, and I really love their aesthetic and style. I tried to take inspiration from an artist who does many different posters for bands, Jermain Rogers. I also used inspiration from their album covers to create a piece that is very 'Deftones'. The wings are actually owl wings, which appears on their album "Diamond Eyes". I chose to go for a monochromatic color scheme and a more graphic style of illustration to make the poster pop. The text is completely hand painted, and is inspired by the font that they use for their logo.
