à l'origine, la base du logotype a été conçue au début des années 90 comme réponse à un exercice de graphisme durant une formation PAO. Le choix de l'éventuel client et de son cahier des charges était libre. Le point de départ fut donc de concevoir le logotype d'une jeune apprentie offsettiste que son maître d'apprentissage et quelques membres de la profession d'imprimeur surnommaient "Bébé killer" : bébé pour son jeune âge et killer pour le fait qu'elle avait eu son diplôme contrairement à certains de ses camarades de sa promotion dont elle était la seule fille !
Originally, the base of the logotype was designed in the early 90s as a response to a graphic design exercise during DTP training. The choice of the potential client and his specifications were free. The starting point was therefore to design the logotype of a young apprentice offset printer whom her apprentice master and some members of the printing profession nicknamed "Baby killer": baby for her young age and killer for the fact that she had graduated unlike some of her classmates, of whom she was the only girl!
Rapidement l'idée de l'hirondelle d'imprimerie et non l'oiseau c'est imposée pour symboliser ce secteur professionnel plutôt que d'utiliser plus classiquement les couleurs CMJN dans la conception du logotype !
Quickly the idea of the printing swallow and not the bird became self-evident to symbolize this professional sector rather than using more conventional CMYK colors in the design of the logotype!
Le cercle de l'hirondelle a ensuite permis d'intégrer un visage enfantin mais un peu rebelle.
The circle of the swallow then made it possible to integrate a childish but somewhat rebellious face.
Une déclinaison de carte de visite possible fut ensuite proposée.
A variation of a possible business cards was then proposed.
Cette création n'est restée qu'à l'état d'exercice étudiant mais lorsque j'ai commencé ma carrière professionnelle en tant que graphiste après cette formation j'ai repris le visuel du logotype en lui associant simplement après une petite mise à jour mon nom et mon prénom à la place du texte "Bébé Killer Imprimerie". Par la suite quelques modifications ont été apportées.
This creation remained only in the state of a student exercise but when I started my professional career as a graphic designer after this training I took over the visual of the logotype after a small update in simply associating my surname and my first name instead of the text "Bébé Killer Imprimerie". Subsequently, some modifications were also made and because of my change of profession to that of teacher, I left it aside for about ten years.
Ce n'est que récemment que j'ai repris l'idée de ce logotype afin de mettre en avant certains projets que je réalise sur mon temps en libre en parallèle de mon métier d'enseignant sous le pseudonyme de graphiste : Tikeniau.
It was only recently that I took up the idea of this logotype in order to highlight certain projects that I carry out on my free time in parallel with my job as a teacher under the pseudonym of graphic designer: Tikeniau.
Le pseudonyme Tikeniau fait référence à ma région de naissance et à ma région d'adoption.
à Angers et dans sa région l'Anjou, en patois local le terme Queniaux désigne les enfants. C'est comme cela qu'une de mes grands-mère accueillait tous ses petits-enfants.
The pseudonym Tikeniau refers to my region of birth and my region of adoption.In Angers and its Anjou region, in the local patois the term Queniaux designates children. This is how one of my grandmothers welcomed all her grandchildren.
Dans le Nord de la France, en ch'timi (le patois local), le mot ch'ti est synonyme de petit et pour désigner un enfant les mots tchtio, tiot, tchtio gosse, ch'ti, ch'ti quinquin ou ch'tit rojin seront utilisés.
In the North of France, in ch'timi (the local language), the word ch'ti is synonymous with little and to designate a child the words "tchtio", "tiot", "tchtio gosse", "ch'ti", "ch'ti quinquin" or "ch'tit rojin" will be used.
Tikeniau est donc une contraction de Ch'ti et de Queniau !

L'ensemble du lettrage est basé sur un même tracé régulateur.

L'hirondelle et la défonce du carré jaune orangé qu'elle engendre évoquent l'univers de la chaine graphique et de ses savoir-faire techniques. Ils évoquent aussi l'idée de précision et du souci du détail dans toute création.
La forme carré par sa couleur jaune orangé symbolise l'esprit de créativité. Elle évoque aussi la recherche perpétuelle d'une certaine perfection, d'une harmonie dans une organisation ou dans une composition graphique. Par son inclinaison la stabilité que renvoie normalement la forme carrée est déséquilibrée amenant ainsi du mouvement et une dynamique dans ce logo.
La forme carré par sa couleur jaune orangé symbolise l'esprit de créativité. Elle évoque aussi la recherche perpétuelle d'une certaine perfection, d'une harmonie dans une organisation ou dans une composition graphique. Par son inclinaison la stabilité que renvoie normalement la forme carrée est déséquilibrée amenant ainsi du mouvement et une dynamique dans ce logo.
Le visage apporte une humanité dans cet univers technique. La relation humaine me parait essentielle lors d'une collaboration pour un projet en communication visuelle.
La structure géométrique de la typographie renforce ce coté technique que ses arrondis adoucissent.
Enfin le choix des deux couleurs bleues en contraste du jaune orangé, permet de rappeler que le mot Tikeniau est le résultat de la fusion de deux autres mots.
The swallow printing press and the smashing of the orange-yellow square that it generates evoke the universe of the graphic chain and its technical know-how. They also evoke the idea of precision and attention to detail in any creation.
The square shape with its orange-yellow color symbolizes the spirit of creativity. It also evokes the perpetual search for a certain perfection, for harmony in an organization or in a graphic composition. By its inclination, the stability normally returned by the square shape is unbalanced, thus bringing movement and dynamics to this logo.
The face brings a humanity to this technical universe. The human relationship seems essential to me during a collaboration for a project in visual communication. The geometric structure of the typography reinforces this technical side that its roundness softens.
Finally, the choice of the two blue colors in contrast to the orange-yellow, makes it possible to recall that the word Tikeniau is the result of the fusion of two other words.
