MobileDirect.com is an online store for selling different types of  mobile phones.

A Database Bottom Up approach has been used to design its architecture. As the name suggests, the database of the whole website is first thought through. I identified the key entities of this website to derive a relation between these entities. A database serves as a backbone of any website. All information is pulled from here and pages are created dynamically at the time of retrieval.

Card sorting was an effective method to determine entities,  attributes and its inter- relationships.

Information Flow depicts the overall  workflow of the  website. There may be two kinds of users of this website. One, would be exploratory,  who would explore possible options of products before buying by judging its features, costs, comparisions etc. Second, would be those who would already know what they are looking for in the website.
In the product listing, user can perform sort, apply filter or may even browse further through its Global Navigation.  Offers would display the latest deals on the webiste. They can be hand picked by the owners to show in the banners. Listings would be available at  four Places : Quick View of all products, Wishlist , Offers and Shopping Cart.

Topic wise organisational scheme has been followed. Possible actions have also been depicted in the flow. Add to compare and Add to Wishlist would be available in all product listing pages. On the final Shopping Cart page user can Checkout for payment/  Go back/ Remove from Cart or may even add the item to his Wishlist.
