Most people believe that a Self - taken digital portrait is typically posted on social media ostensibly with the intent of getting people to respond to them. I believe that being able to document yourself sometimes is not

self-centered as we make it out to be. In that point, I begin to question myself as to why I do not participate in this self-taken digital phenomenon. Could self-esteem be a factor?... how people may react if I share a personal identity with them? The main purpose, in my personal point of view, behind creating a selfie, is to reveal an inner self or identity. An imaginative identity, through digital exposure, which can show the vulnerable side of you. Versions of yourself, that you want to remember and put on display in a big digital plate, for other people to admire and browse through. So, maybe by taking a picture of yourself, you are attempting to either better understand yourself or to express yourself to the viewers and capture your life in snapshots!
