This project was done in conjunction with Pearl Production, for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, an education publishing company. Our team helped select photography and color schemes and I was fortunate enough to do the design, layout, and production for the 12 book series. Each subject has 1-8 books and individual color schemes. The grade tab had consistent matching colors to help educators find their students level and were individually adjusted to still match the overall color mood for the series.
Since most educational books have a primary, bold, playful design, we were looking to succeed with a look and feel that would still be bright, but that incorporated a more mature aspect to the series. The charcoal gray and graphic shapes appeal to all ages, which is especially important since some of the books (Algebra, Grammar Review, and Math Review) were aimed to high school and college students.
Test Preparation and Writing both have 8 grades.
