NF Link
objective For this project, the objective was to create an app that would be available on the phone, allowing people who have neurofibromatosis (NF) to have access to information on the disorder and to be able to find where they can get access to specialists & where they are located and get in contact with them.

solution For the idea of my design, I created the app for NF Link through Adobe XD. When first starting, creating a map of what pages were needed and which pages would link to another was crucial. With that in mind, the layout and design of the app pages was then formed, which led to having a simple, clean, and more rounded design to be made. The main focus on the app was to provide easily understood information on NF and being able to connect with a specialist that knows about NF, so, that brought about the number of pages that would be needed. The decision behind the color was going off the official/not official colors of neurofibromatosis, green and blue. For the logo, it took time to figure out what would work, but once the name "NF Link" came about and knowing that NF affects the whole body, a simple icon of something, like a brain, is not broad enough. But knowing NF is a genetic disorder, the idea to incorporate DNA became a main goal. With "Link" in the name, it helped form the idea of a 'link,' and chain link, as linking people to doctors is very important, to help people affected informed.

As someone who has NF2, I believe having access to an app like this could help someone. I could see this app expanding further, allowing people to log information if needed and/or to have a calendar to put in appointment times and to remind you of them.
