Story: Skhokos's Kitchen in a local restaurant/takeaway business that started in 2010. Just before the Fifa World Cup. The aim was  celebrate South Africa for all its uniqueness and cultural quarks.
Two very controversial cultures, Zulu and Afrikaner, were put within the same context here. The aim was to use these two distinct cultures together to represent a country in harmony and to create an aesthetic that will appeal to foreign travelers. This idea of harmony comes through in the symbolism used within the logo which is a traditional African symbol of peace. The idea behind the name is based on the meaning of the word skhokho which means burnt porridge/pap at the bottom of a potjiekos pot. Some cultures believe that it is a symbol of strength and goodness. Skhokho, as slang, is used to describe a person to whom the community look up to. Adding to the image of the brand as a whole.
