Apartheid Museum

Background
The Apartheid Museum, the first of its kind, illustrates the rise and fall of apartheid. The museum is a beacon of hope showing the world how South Africa is coming to terms with its oppressive past and working towards a future that all South Africans can call their own.

Insight
It's been 25 years since South Africa gained its independence from the apartheid regime. For most black South Africans,
the new Democratic South Africa meant that they will finally get their dignity back. But most black people’s lives have not changed since South Africa transitioned from the apartheid era.

Idea
Go to South African townships, and find old pictures of houses that were built pre-1994 and go to the same houses and photograph their current state. Using the two images, compare and show how the same houses are still in the same state or even worse than before. Also, juxtapose pre-1994 images of soccer fields and streets/roads with 2019 images.
