Farming in the skies
At Leamouth, East London
Farmscrape, is a high-rise residential building with a difference. Sunbathing farms are being cantilevered at numerous levels to grow vegetables, flowers and spices by the residents in this high-rise building. These farms are meant to be alloted to the residents in a similar way the farming allotment system is carried at across the boroughs of London.
Farmscrape is amongst the group of eight other high-rise residential buildings being envisaged at the leamouth site in East London. The farms strutting outside the building are aimed at growing seasonal veggies, flowers and spices also selling them locally to achieve much sustainability goals by curtailing insane food miles.
