Nando's vaccination campaign
Rituals are an important part of our lives as South Africans. We perform rituals that require us to offer sacrifices to our gods, ancestors and respectful spiritual entities.
Insight: Ukuhlaba is an isiXhosa word used to describe rituals. The word is also losely used to refer to an injection. The ritual itself is referred to as umsebenzi (Job/work that needs to be done).
Idea: (The ritual) We want to normalise the vaccine as some type of a ritual that shouldn’t be shunned upon. By showing Mzansi that in order for things to go well for us, we need to perform this ritual – “Put in the work to get the results we want together as a nation”.
