Brand the Unbrandable

This project explores the theme of happiness and creates a disruptive product that provokes and encourages us to think about the way we live our lives. I was asked to package and brand happiness as a product.
I have come up with the concept of over-consuming sugar, in the form of a box of chocolates. It will be executed by pretty, elaborate packaging on the outside. In the inside it portrays the truth of sugars which is hidden by the packaging that is deceiving to people. It aims to to show that the truth is ‘sugar coated’. Although it is bad for your health and deceptive,  just like the truth, it is nice and attractive to eat and gives you happiness.

Part of this project was about packaging design. I created sleeves for the chocolates. These were my illustrations for the six bars of chocolate.

Hidden in the illustrations are objects such as syringes, hearts and stethoscopes which link to the hidden truth about chocolates.
