2022 is actually the 10th year that I've designed my own valentine cards, so I wanted to make them special. I started by taking a look back at all prior years, summary below.

After taking a look back at prior years, I created a mood board and sketch. I ended up picking the theme of "it's a vibe", as it seemed celebratory. I also had this idea to combine a heart with the letter b. While I'm certainly not a type artist, I wanted to challenge myself to something new. Once I had a few sketches, I then brought it into illustrator to vectorize. Overall, I kept the main card design pretty simple as my initial intent was to print these cards with gold foil stamp. When it came to printing the cards, foil stamping was not an option due to cost and timing. Therefore, I had to get creative and found some gold sparkly washi tape in my craft box. I cut tiny little pieces and placed them on the cards, which actually worked really well and came across like confetti.
