In Hindu astrology Ketu represents karmic collections both good and bad, spirituality and supernatural influences. Ketu signifies the spiritual process of the refinement of materialization to spirit and is considered both malefic and benefic, as it causes sorrow and loss, and yet at the same time turns the individual to God.

Ketu is a symbol of liberation from the cycle of birth and death, or an indicator of enlightenment that frees a person from the shackles of the material world.

According to the legend, Rahu and Ketu are two halves of the demon’s body, who had the drink of immortality and after was punished for that and cut into two parts. The Sun eclipses and the Moon eclipses always take place near one of the lunar knots. That is how these lunar knots are able to suppress, obscure the Sun and any other planet. Rahu (Head) and Ketu (Tail) of the Dragon.

Ketu - shadow planet signifies psychic powers, clairvoyance, intuition, intrigue and desire for knowledge. Unlike Rahu, Ketu deters worldly powers, as it’s a deep thinker with keen interest in unearthing the esoteric.

Ketu, planet has extremely strong karmic connection, from past lives. It’s the planet known for major transformations, and transcendence into higher reality.
