Black History Month

Since 1976, February has been designated as an annual celebratory month to highlight the role that African Americans have played, and continue to play, in the history of the United States of America.
Last week children in my classroom learned about Rosa Parks who was the Civil Rights activist. We watched a BrainPOP Jr. video and students got to learn about segregation of students in school and discussed the importance of Rosa Park's activism that shaped the Civil Rights movement.

For this Blog I embedded YouTube video and added two famous pictures of Rosa Park. Additionally, I found a website with a tutorial for students on how to draw Rosa Parks.
