The Red Riding Hood

“The Red Riding Hood” is a personal project by Sofia Ladeni using mixed media. The idea started as an experimental approach of a classic children’s book illustrations and how they could be depicted in various illustration styles. My approach was to depict the Wolf as the character of Darkness, mean, untrustworthy trying to lure the kind, naïve character of Red Riding Hood that represented the Light. Inspired by the allegory of the wolf representing the night (moon) and the riding hood the morning light (sun). Darkness and Light in a constant fight/dance with each other.
