Baseball is the national sport of the Dominican Republic,
just as some countries go crazy for football, Dominicans go crazy for baseball. So much so, that they represent the nationality with the greatest number of players born outside the U.S. in the Major League Baseball.
BHD León Bank has always supported baseball in the DR and is also a proud sponsor of the MLB. Every year they have the challenge to create an advertising campaign, celebrating baseball in the county and BHD León's role in it. This year we wanted to do something different, so we took one of the bank's pillars: Responsibility, to create a campaign that not only celebrate Dominicans that play in the Major League Baseball, but every Dominican that does things right in their everyday life and is helping the country to move forward.
We selected two real Dominicans to showcase in our campaign and two Dominican MLB stars who celebrated them. Switching the fan rol we usually see in sports campaigns.
1. Teacher Fior Thompson and Luis Castillo:
A middle school teacher from San Pedro de Macorís, one of the Dominican capitals of baseball. She does everything she can to be a good teacher, and teach her students not only social studies, but the way to build a better future.
2. The doctors at the Hospital Pediátrico Dr. Hugo Mendoza
+ José Ramírez:
Doctors are crucial in this day and age, and this ones go out of their ways to do everything they can to ensure the children of the country are healthy, safe and happy.
We complemented this real people campaign with interviews of each person:
