The Mysterious Lake in India

The lake with the floating island
It is believed that Sage Parashar meditated on the banks of this lake, hence it is named Parashar Lake.
The lake is believed to be the microcosm of the planet with the floating island being its axis of revolution. The island floats toward the east in the morning and reaches the west by the evening. The local residents go on to say that the time when the island ceases to float would be the time of catastrophe.
The Legend of Parashar Lek
Located amidst the Dhauladhar ranges of Kullu, the place is famous for the three-storied Pagoda-style temple which is located on the bank of the lake.
As per the legends, at the request of Dev Kamrunag (based on whom this entire valley is known by the name of Kamru Valley today), Bheem, one of the Pandavas, formed a lake in elliptical shape by pushing his forearm and elbow into the peak of the mountain.
The depth of the lake is yet not known even after many attempts by several experts from across the globe, which further adds to the mystery associated with the lake. The recurring failed attempts to explore the depth of the lake have also led people to the extent of calling it a ‘bottomless lake’.
