Esta marca foi criada com o objetivo de ser o conjunto de produtos alimentares nacionais produzidos em pequena quantidade e com qualidade.

O nome provém da palavra francesa, significando "alto, elevado ou superior", sendo o propósito da marca ser prestigiosa.
