Destigmatized is a critical reflection of the stereotyping and the stigmatization of Muslims who are of Middle Eastern descent. I did this project with the hope of bringing awareness to ignorance and to end negative assumptions people may have toward a particular group of people.

The pieces in this project take on various forms, including: a logo, three posters, and postcards. A juxtapostion of bold portraits and a simple typographic aesthetic is carried throughout the project. The people portrayed throughout the project are real Muslims in Massachusetts that I met with and interviewed.

“Graphics have long played a powerful role as a social tool- they raise awareness, apply a critique, and ultimately provoke change.”
