In this project I was required to pick an ordinary object and use the 7 Creative Strategies to create seven designs. I chose to use an orange. In this project I was allowed to use the whole orange, the juice, the peel, the shadow, slices, or sections. The 7 Creative Strategies that I used were combination, juxtaposition, isolation, metaphor or simile, change of context or environment, physical/shape similarity, and material change, swap, or focus.
I combined a tomato stem and oranges to make orange tomatoes.
I wanted the cup to be larger than the diving man to show juxtaposition.
I wanted to isolate the orange from squash with a similar shape.
This example shows the comparison of apples and oranges.
I changed the context with this composition and used an orange for a soccer ball.
An orange and the sun have physical shape similarity, so I replaced the sun with an orange with this composition,
