3D and Image Creation Team - Acumed

As a Medical Device manufacturer the instruction and marketing of our products required detailed, complex, high-quality images. These take the form of marketing focused "Hero" images on bone, images of our products alone, and of course instructional images intended for use during surgery.

Our team maintains a library of thousands of images, with 100's more completed every month. We focus our efforts on accuracy, image clarity, and service for our internal stakeholders in design and marketing communications.

My team included:
Jamie Elmer: Senior Director Marketing Communications
Mike Harris (me): Creative Services Manager, 3D Manager, and Artist
David Holland: Web and Digital Architecture Manager, 3D Program Genesis
Anne Kahn: 3d/Post-production Artist
Terressa Cook: 3d/Post-production Artist
Case Study - Clavicle Hook Plate Hero

To support a new product introduction, we were tasked with addressing a new indication in the shoulder. A brand new Clavicle Hook Plate. This line extension fills out an important system in our upper extremity portfolio The process starts in Keyshot, where a 3D Artist combines engineering models with bone.
Working with our product engineers, product managers, and art direction, a final image is produced. As you can see, multiple passes were used to increase image clarity and product usage intention.
Finally, that image is placed in context. The graphic designers, content writers, product managers, and 3D artists working in tandem to create images that support our marketing needs.

Case Study - OsteoMed Hand Plating System Hero

As part of a recent merger, Acumed took on the OsteoMed Hand Plating System. This system contains dozens of plate options, and we were tasked with creating compelling marketing collateral. The process starts in Keyshot, where a 3D Artist combines engineering models with bone.
Then after vetting via product managers and art direction, a final image is produced. Sometimes this is a one pass render from Keyshot but often is a multi-pass image combining slices for color correction, plate placement, and visual clarity.
Finally, that image is placed in context. The graphic designers, content writers, product managers, and 3D artists working in tandem to create images that support our marketing needs.

Surgical Technique Image Creation

Surgical techniques are one of the few pieces of content created to support every product. They are intended to instruct users on the proper steps to implant our products and facilitate the healing of fractures, fusions, and osteotomies throughout the extremities.

To support the new product launch of the Acumed Fibula Nail 2 project we created dozens of surgical images.
