BARBANADE
[Italian swimming competition]
Throughout the year, no one can ever dive from the wharf of the Marian Sanctuary but on June 5th the prohibitions are canceled.
Barbanade is a swimming competition along a 3.8 km long lagoon channel that leads from the island of Barbana to Grado (Gorizia - Italy).
The organizers asked me to re-design the brand identity of the race.
They wanted an impacting image, different from the usual, recognizable and declinable on various instruments.
The visual represents the island of Barbana and it was created with its subsequent applications in mind: it had to adapt to all tools (flags, brochures, tags, posters, etc.) and be impactful.
I choosed a font that was legible even from a distance, recognizable, impactful but clean.

Simple and primary colors, san serif fonts, minimal and flat illustrative style: you don't need many frills to be impactful and recognizable.
