Sol Restaurant Charrette
Third Year - Cal Poly SLO - Quarter 3 2008 - 2009 - Professor Mark Cabrinha
  - Interior view of restaurant.
This was a quick charrette designed to get us thinking about restaurant design and the impact architecture can have on the dining experience.  Located in San Luis Obispo, Sol would be a restaurant only open when the sun goes down.  Each night would have a specific theme for the courses which could be picked by the patrons.  This variability both in terms of timing and in food choice, forces the typical user to be much more connected to the restaurant, but it also removes some of the problems associated with dining today.  Instead of putting up with enormous wait times and typically standard menus, Sol would be a place where the experience of eating and dining would center around the people seated at the tables.
