Typographic Book: F*ck Content by Michael Rock vs. Crystal Goblet by Beatrice Warde—two very different opinions by two well-known designers from the last century. I incorporated my perspective in both designs, as signifying that both perspectives are correct under different circumstances. For the essay F*ck Content, I pushed my design to be bold, while still considering the design principles and elements, as Michael Rock made points about, such as typography, line, form, color, contrast, weight, and scale to tell a compelling story. I purposefully put them back-to-back and upside down, since they were polar opposite opinions.

My lo-fi Prototypes

As I began the project, I wanted to experiment with the golden ratio, also known as the golden section. It was important to be aware of negative space while using the golden ratio to guide me, while making sure each design element had a relationship to one another.
