Bitcoin Magazine - El Salvador Issue (original cover)
Here's a quick recap of my experience on illustrating this cover for Bitcoin magazine.
Back in September, I was approached to illustrate the cover for the Bitcoin Magazine October issue. The focus would be on the ongoing developments in El Salvador in regards to Bitcoin being legal currency. The cover needed to have a it of a political cartoon flavor to it, but with my design and color aesthetic. As a latino of Salvadoran descent, I was intrigued by the project and took it on.
What would be about 3 weeks of work had to be condensed to one, and to work I went. Luckily, the team was receptive to my original concept and very few changes were made to the artwork. But one big change did happen. At the very last minute it was decided by editorial, to run a different cover. My finished cover would be designated to one of the inside back covers. I'm still very proud of the work, mainly because the concept, art direction and illustrative aesthetic was developed within 2 days and executed successfully. It was a great experience, all things considered.
