Each student was assigned a letter (in my case, R). The goal was to study the letterform and create a series of three blocks that can be printed on various paper types and used as paper promotions, or something interesting to play with in your hands and stimulate creativity. Students were limited to 5 basic typefaces of a single case, black and white color palette, and other specific stipulations. My blocks call attention to the beauty of the letter "R" by blowing up the letterforms and overlapping them in a strategic way, so that the assembled block is one continuous flowing line made up of each letter r, or a unique pattern. development for the blocks was done in Adobe Illustrator.
