This is an op art color version because i did one before that was only on black and white. If you want to make this you need to first make a square then make another square but much smaller in the middle of the big square and use object blend make. but before you do that you can align the little square to the artboard. so now you use object blend options and the specified steps can be whatever you want. Now while everything is selected you go to effect/ pathfinder/ extrude in the effects window. You should get something that looks similar to this.
