EMIGRE 'EXHIBIT'
LAYOUT DESIGN
FUN WITH TYPE.
These items were created for the purpose of promoting an exhibit featuring the work of Zuzana Licko, type designer and co-founder of Emigre Graphics. We were tasked with creating materials that would speak to the work of the designer while also only using two colours.
Given the experimental nature and unique features of many of Licko’s work, it was decided that the typography itself would be the focus. The colours were chosen to reflect the other creative outlets of the designer (pottery and print design) and to highlight the type. A yellow-green colour is featured to match the science fiction feel of the first type, titled Lo-Res. With the cream colour chosen to highlight the unique shapes of the second type, titled Citizen.
