IOW 100.2 Compositions and Spatial relation

Discovering composition and
 spatial relations
IOW / 100.2
Brief summary:
In this project you will learn how to use design principles to create a successful competition and to make it visually appealing. The project will also help you to get more familiar with your technical instruments. In this project you will have to create a composition that communicates a specific emotion.

Project deliverables:
1. develop different concepts for your chosen emotion (3)
2. Choose your best concept
3. Create a final composition in gouache on a A4 Fabriano

Design strategy:
At first I didn't know which emotion I wanted to chose so I wrote a few things down for each emotion. I did this digitally. The three emotions that I digitally worked on was: calmness, fear, and anger. As I was working through this different emotions I felt that there is already so much fear and anger going on these days with the whole COVID-19 pandemic and that's why I chose to focus on the calmness emotion and also because it fits my personality the best.
Here are some more concept developing sketches that I made:
Second deliverable:
The emotion that I ended up choosing were calmness so I started to develop a composition for my final execution. I thought of a composition that would make the viewer feel calm as they are looking at the artwork, so I made this composition below. For me this composition holds allot of calmness. The way that the person stares at the sun can remind people to sometime focus on the beauty of nature instead of only focusing on problems in our society.
Third deliverable:
