Left Wing-Right Wing Exhibit

Every Year the UP College of Fine Arts holds a Faculty Exhibit called "Left Wing, Right Wing" Exhibit. It's called that way because the College is divided into two wings, the left wing is for the Studio Arts & Art Theory programs while the right wing is for the Visual Communications (where I lecture) program. i was asked by our department head to make the poster for the Exhibit. I came up with the "Flight" idea, using the image of an Airplane's wings as the visual idea. It seemed appropriate for the College because in order for it "fly" both wings are needed, as we all know an airplane cannot fly with one wing alone. :D

We were also asked to submit a piece. Mine's called "Rain Dance."

The poster was printed on photographic paper, while "Rain Dance" was printed on archival paper.

UPDATE: I used the visual idea of a drop of water forming into a noose. I think visually this communicates what could happen to us if we stop caring for our waterways. If we keep on polluting it, it could kill us. With dirty tap water/polluted body of water it’s almost like committing a suicide , hence the noose/hangman’s knot.
